2023 Primary Voter Guide

NKD-Voter-Guide-June-2023-4x5_(2).pngEarly voting in the 2023 Democratic Primary starts on Saturday, June 17. With that, here is our annual NKD Voter Guide. This year’s Voter Guide includes information on all the candidates running for the 16 City Council seats in Brooklyn.

It also covers other races on the ballot: Civil Court Justices and Judicial Delegates. The latter is a little-understood position within the County Democratic Party that has been a key focus for NKD in 2023. We recommend checking out our updated Judicial Delegate website and taking a moment to read our recent Joint Statement with other Brooklyn political clubs about County interference with JD slates.

This election cycle is notably light on competitive races. When they are running unopposed, candidates for City Council, Civil Court, and Judicial Delegates will not actually appear on your ballot. We noted the cases where that applies. We still included a write-up on all City Council and Civil Court candidates and incumbents with links to where you can learn more. Be sure to double-check your City Council district due to redistricting last year!

You can also view the guide as a PDF.

With appreciation,

Christina, Paige, and the NKD team
