At January’s General Meeting, members elected our 2019 Executive Committee – including a new Chief of Operations, Jessica Baker Vodoor, and VP of Organizing, K. Sage Rockermann. We’re so excited for them to join ExCo – and want to honor the incredible service of 2018 Chief of Operations Jesse Pierce and VP of Organizing Angela LaScala-Gruenewald. 

Thanks to State Senator Zellnor Myrie, Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins, and all New York legislators who passed crucial election reform bills yesterday! Years of work by activists like Let NY Vote and a powerful volunteer effort from NKD and other clubs made this possible: by electing a new Democratic majority with a mandate for reform.

We're proposing a number of changes to our Bylaws, most of which have to do with clarifying roles and responsibilities based on the work NKD is already undertaking. In accordance with the Bylaws, we're giving members two weeks to review them before our next general meeting, at which time we'll take a vote to pass them. Questions? Feel free to get in touch.
