NKD supported a group of County Committee members who sued the Brooklyn party over their undemocratic conduct of the December 2020 County Committee meeting. On October 1, a judge threw out the suit on a technicality relating to how it was filed. We're disappointed, but this ruling is additional motivation to help more people run for County Committee and other party offices in 2022, so we won't have to sue the party again in order to have a democratic meeting. Read this new statement from NKD and the plaintiffs for more information about the suit, and join us at our October 14 General Meeting to talk about our next steps.

True Blue, NKD's annual fundraiser, is coming up on Thursday, September 30, from 6-9pm, at Cafe Erzulie, a beautiful indoor/outdoor space. We will honor Borough President nominee and longtime NKD ally Antonio Reynoso, and two activist organizations: NY Communities for Change and the No North Brooklyn Pipeline Coalition.
