Release County Committee Voting Records!

At the Brooklyn Democrats' County Committee meeting that concluded on October 3rd, party leaders aligned with County Committee Chair Arleny Alvarado-McCalla prevailed in every vote, but members were confused by the vote totals reported. They seemed to indicate that more than 30% of members present in person or by proxy didn't participate in any of the votes. Members have requested details of how these votes were counted and how many proxies were held by each member, but after more than two weeks the party has not revealed any information. Read about it in this statement, and add your name here if you agree.

Please register here. We'll discuss what happened at the County Committee meeting and how we can respond, members will vote on proposed changes to NKD's bylaws, and we'll share how we're organizing to help Democrats win next month. We'll also hear updates from Rep Your Block and committees, and you can join us at O'Keefe's for a post-meeting hang.

Officers For A Better County Committee

We're excited to support this slate of 15 candidates for County Committee Officer positions. County Committee members meet on Wednesday, September 21, to vote on appointments, party rules (see our previous post on rules). Typically these roles have been held by District Leaders who defer to the Party Chair, but this slate of candidates are devoted County Committee members who will bring a new level of transparency and accountability to our party's operations. Read more about them here.
